Hey Reader,

I hope you enjoyed your summer solstice. A friend and I did a kayaking trip out to our "secret" camping spot on Dale Hollow Lake. We went swimming, snorkeling, and fishing. It was an awesome trip, even if we didn't actually catch any fish.

So let's get a few things I wanted to share with you this week.

• It's official Glacier's Going-to-the-Sun Road has opened for the season and NPS will be releasing additional reservations for the west entrance.
• I'm pleased to announce that we have added our first tour company to the travel deal center. Check out these amazing day trips from Seattle to Olympic and Mount Rainier. So check them out. If you are looking to head to Rainier and don't want to deal with permits, this tour is perfect.
• Grand Canyon National Park had an interesting rescue the other day. A local cat escaped from employee housing and had to be rescued from a ponderosa pine.
• Please take care around waterfalls, rivers, and creeks in the park. Falling in the water can easily result in downing.
