🔥 Denali Renamed?! Let’s Talk + 20% Off & A Trip Invite!

Hey Reader,

I'm so sorry it's been a few weeks since my last email. The illness I picked up over New Year's turned out to be COVID and left me exhausted and coughing and in no condition to do consultations. To make up for this, I'm offering 20% off any consultations booked by Friday (does not have to occur by Friday). The discount has already been applied on the booking page. Usually $90 per hour.

I'm slowly on the mend and thankful I didn't get called up actually to serve on a jury.

What is a Name?

I'm incredibly disappointed that President Trump has ordered the U.S. Board on Geographic Names to change the name of North America's tallest mountain to Mt. McKinley.

This decision is disrespectful to Alaska, Alaska's history, and the Alaskan Native groups. It ignores their rights as a state to name their mountain.

I've also created a range of protest stickers and gear. You can check this out here.

Adventure Awaits! Would You Join Me?

Over the years, I’ve toyed with the idea of hosting a group trip. Recently, a company specializing in custom international tours reached out, and I wanted to gauge your interest in an outdoor-focused international adventure.

After discussing several destinations, Costa Rica stood out as the perfect spot!

The plan is to explore three of Costa Rica’s stunning national parks, each offering diverse landscapes—from sandy beaches and tropical rainforests to volcanic terrain. We’ll go hiking, wildlife watching, whitewater rafting, and snorkeling, with plenty of free time to explore on your own!

  • Trip Date and Length: April 2026 for 7 days / 6 nights
  • Group Size: 6–12 people
  • Cost: $2,850 per person (includes all activities, in-country transportation, most meals, and accommodations). Single travelers will be paired by gender.

Rough Itinerary (Subject to change!)

  • Day 1: Hike in Los Quetzales National Park
  • Day 2: Hike Cerro Buena Vista
  • Day 3: Explore Manuel Antonio National Park
  • Day 4: Snorkeling
  • Day 5: Relax in hot springs
  • Day 6: Whitewater rafting / Arenal Volcano National Park
  • Day 7: Depart

Planned Lodging: Savegre Lodge, Costa Verde, Arenal Paraiso Resort & Spa.

I'm just gauging if there is enough interest in the trip that it's worthwhile to put a group trip together. You aren't committing to anything right now.

Happy Adventures,
