National Park Obsessed

πŸŠπŸŒ‹ Is swimming in volcano on your bucket list?

Hey Reader,

Recently, news articles have implied that Crater Lake National Park will be closed for the next couple of years. This is incorrect. The Park will be open, and you will be able to access the rim road (pending weather and construction) like normal.

What is closing is Lake access. Cleetwood Trail, the only trail down to the shoreline of Crater Lake, will be closing in 2026 for a two or three-year rehabilitation project.

This complex project includes replacing the marina, toliets, retaining walls, repaving, soil stabilization, and many other moving parts.

As a result of this construction project, boat tours will be canceled, and there will be no shore access.

One of my good friends and fellow blogger, Valerie, is putting together a travel resources bundle that includes over $150 in resources from me and other travel experts on a variety of bucket list destinations... including Antarctica, Southern African safaris, and Japan... just to name a few!

The Bucket List Bundle opens next Tuesday! Sign up for the wait list here, and you'll get first access.

Keep an eye on the NPS websites.

It's been a crazy couple of months for NPS trip planning. The back-and-forth on NPS staffing and timed entry at some parks has given me a serious case of whiplash.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on the NPS websites and double-check visitor center and access hours.

It's been a busy couple of months for me on the home front. With 55 acres, there is always something that needs to be done, but we are finally getting around to some long-term projects. For a long time, we have been planning to rework the mile-long driveway to minimize the risk of cars meeting at the hairpin curve. Plus, a few long-awaited wildlife management projects. We are going to be planting a small stand of black walnut trees and putting in a couple of patches of native grass throughout our fields.

I'm also working on convincing my neighbor to let me put a pole camera up on his property so I can watch the red-tailed hawk nesting on our tree line.

Plus in two weeks, I'm headed out on my first campervan road trip.

Happy Adventures,
